PediKarma

PediKarma™ is sweeping people off their feet. Inspired by the Indian foot massage treatment called Kansa Vataki and the Padaprakshalana ceremony in which the feet are respectfully and loving bathed as an acknowledgment of the beauty and goodness that is our true nature,PediKara is reflexology with an Ayurvdic Twist. It is based on the notion that each of the body’s systems corresponds to a spot on the feet, where healing begins. Your feet first soak in a warm bath laced with mineral salts and tridoshic oils, good for kapha, pitta, and vata – all three Ayurvedic body types. Then, a reflexology marma-point massage promises to rejuvenate you from the bottom up. Then comes the magic of Kansa Vataki; a small metal bowl, to “relax and energetically re-balance the entire mind-body system,” according to creators Robert and Melanie Sachs of Diamond Way Ayurveda. Reflexology with the Kansa bowl is said to draw heat, acidity, and the negative energy away from the body. After, your feet are wrapped in warm towels for a short rest and an application of herbal powder that is sprinkled on. You will definitely walk out with your best feet forward! Who benefits from Receiving PediKarma™? • People who feel more busy that they want to be • Anyone who feels stress or anxious • Individuals who stand for long periods of time • People who work at or around computers or strong electro-magnetic energies frequently • Anyone with signs of extra heat, such as…red, itchy eyes; eye strain; redness in the face; hot flashes; irritability or unpredictable temper • Anyone who experiences difficulty sleeping Schedule an...
Shirodahara

Shirodahara

Experience the most popular and most divine traditional Ayurvedic Rejuvenation Therapy; rest and calm your mind with Shirodhara as a gentle and slow, steady flow of warm oil, infused with organic herbs, stimulates the pituitary gland, inducing a deep state of rest and relaxation. The name Shirodhara comes from the Sanskrit words ‘shiro’, meaning head, and ‘dhara’, the continuous flow of a liquid. Ayurveda considers the center of the forehead–or third eye–the seat of human consciousness, spirituality and healing. During Shirodhara, a state of pure silence and calmness is achieved, creating optimal flow of energy throughout the body, and a heightened internal awareness in the mind. As the gentle stream of warm herbal oil flows on the forehead, rhythmically moving over the third eye the therapeutic oils flow over the scalp and through the hair, transporting you into a blissful state of relaxation, triggering a self-healing response. The “third eye”, the anatomical point connected to the pineal, pituitary, and hypothalamus glands (responsible for hormonal secretions which regulate digestion, elimination, breathing, and our emotions) is soothed by the gentle and steady flow of the oil, allowing your body to release stress and restore balance. Clients who receive this therapy often feel as if they are floating in a sea of tranquility, where mind, body and spirit are purified while anxieties, fears, worries, exhaustion, sadness or anger wash away. The skin regains a natural glow and youthfulness with softened stress and worry lines. Sleep becomes deep and restful; hair recovers its luster and strength; and hormones are balanced by the stimulation to the pituitary and pineal glands of the endocrine system....

Marma Therapy

Marma Therapy

Traditional massage and Acupressure use pressure points. In Ayurveda, these dynamic energy points are called “Marmas.” Marma points are sensitive, powerful points on the body used for treatment of disease and to promote health and longevity. They serve as the bridge between the physical body and its more subtle energy pathways, called nadis. This therapy is aimed at stimulating specific organs and/or systems, while releasing blocked energy and promoting flexibility. A session consists of Ayurvedic reflexology with an emphasis on key marma points depending on your specific needs, and includes the use of Ayurvedic essential oils, passive yoga therapy, and application of mild heat on specific areas to relieve tension. Benefits of Marma Therapy: • Stimulates blood and lymphatic circulation • Strengthens the immune system • Nourishes muscles and joints • Decongests and detoxifies • Soothes and rejuvenates the nervous system What to Expect During Basti Treatments: 1) Expect the appointment to take forty-five minutes for treatment. 2) Exact treatment procedures will vary depending on the Basti requested and you may or may not be asked to disrobe. 3) Skin will be prepped with an herbal transdermal cream. 4) The Basti (dough dam) will be prepared and placed on the location of choice. 5) Medicinal oils will be poured and contained within the dam for approximately twenty minutes. 6) While the beneficial oils and herbs are soaking in, additional treatments such as Sound Therapy, Marma Therapy, etc may be added on. 7) After the dough dam and oils are removed, you will be offered refreshment such as a signature tea.
